This project was challenging to me due to my beliefs. I acknowledge that this is a tradition that the Mexican culture celebrates and ties in with the nation’s religious belief. It was challenging for me to find a way to make up the making of an ofrenda. I decided that the best way would be to write a report on this celebration that dates backs to more than 3,000 years.
In the Cultural Connections project, I enjoyed learning about the Aztecs and Mayans. It was really interesting to learn about my culture and how Mexico became to be. I was fascinated by the Mayans and how they were able to create a modern and vast civilization. Not only did their expanding impressed me but also how close to accurate their calendar was. After I finish my first draft of my report I asked a classmate who was also doing a report to critique mine. I was able to expand thoughts and fix errors that I had missed. The second draft had critique and I was able to do more research and add more information to my report. The third draft had very little minor errors that were easily fixed. I wouldn’t change anything I believe that this was a well thought out project and had a lot to learn from. All the activities leading up to the learning of Mexico was helpful to have background and understanding. |
